Volcom announced that Kevin Meehan will take the reins as the new president of North America. Meehan's hiring for the newly created position is the latest major change at the company. Founder Richard Woolcott stepped down as CEO to become executive chairman in December and Jason Steris took over as CEO. Meehan has nearly two decades of experience in the action-sports industry, most recently as general manager of Costa Mesa-based Analog, which discontinued its surf-, skate- and street-wear division in October 2012.

For the period, the company achieved double-digit sales growth in the second quarter leading to a near doubling of its EBIT compared to the first half of last year.
