TeliaSonera International Carrier Expands its Worldwide Network with Point of Presence for the Middle East with Omantel
Feb 18 14
TeliaSonera International Carrier announced it has expanded its worldwide network with a Point of Presence (PoP) in Oman. Partnering with Oman Telecommunication Company TSIC will offer an extensive portfolio of IP, Ethernet, international voice and IPX-based services. TSIC has worked with Middle Eastern operators for over 20 years and now continues to build on its position as a major international voice aggregator and one of the top providers of Internet backbone routes to the region. Partnering with Omantel is a natural step given Oman's strategic location as a landing point for ten regional cable systems.
TeliaSonera International Carrier AB's Global Network Upgrades to 100G at 1102 Grand, Kansas City
Mar 12 13
1102 Grand announced that TeliaSonera International Carrier AB has upgraded its services at 1102 Grand to a 100G core transport network. TSIC's 100G DWDM service utilizes Infinera's DTN-X platform, allowing TSIC to support backbone traffic and deliver 100G services across North America. TSIC's network is capable of delivering up to 24 Tbps of capacity into the facility. This high capacity transport network upgrade is in response to growing demand and to support international network thoroughfare as well as new local fiber initiatives in and through Kansas City. TSIC's new 100G transport routes are a three-way junction, providing added route diversity and capacity to its fiber backbone. The added routes will head east to St. Louis and Chicago (with round trip delays of 5.4 ms and 12.2 ms), west to Denver (11.8 ms) and San Francisco (36.6 ms), and south to Dallas (10.4 ms), Atlanta (30.8 ms) and Miami (47.2 ms), directly linking Europe to Kansas City and providing access to Asia and South America through 1102 Grand.
