Northern Tier Energy GP LLC appointed Mr. Rocky L. Duckworth to serve on the Board of Directors, effective May 20, 2013. Mr. Duckworth was also appointed as a member of the audit committee. His service on the audit committee will become effective immediately. As a result of Mr. Duckworth's appointment to the board, the size of the board increased to 9 members. In connection with Mr. Duckworth's appointment to the audit committee, Eric Liaw stepped down as a member of the audit committee.

Effective as of February 5, 2013, the board of directors of Northern Tier Energy GP LLC (the 'General Partner') and of Northern Tier Energy LLC appointed Chet Kuchta to serve as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the General Partner and NTE LLC. Mr. Kuchta has served as Vice President, Supply of the General Partner since July 2012 and of NTE LLC since August 2011.

On December 20, 2012, Mario E. Rodriguez resigned as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of Northern Tier Energy GP LLC effective immediately. Effective as of December 20, 2012, the board of directors of the company appointed Hank Kuchta to serve as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Kuchta has served as President and Chief Operating Officer and a member of the board of directors of the company since June 2012 and as President and Chief Operating Officer and a member of the board of directors of NTE LLC since December 2010. From January 2010 until July 2012, Mr. Kuchta served as an independent director of the general partner of TransMontaigne G.P., LLC. Effective as of December 20, 2012, the board of directors of the company appointed Dan F. Smith, the current Chairman of the board of directors of the company, to serve as the Executive Chairman of the board of directors of the company.
