Excelitas Technologies Corp. announced the latest of its digital pyrodetectors, the Low-Power DigiPyro(R) PYD 1688. This new digital pyrodetector operates on reduced power consumption and features sleep mode operation, making it ideal for wireless and battery-operated motion detection applications. As part of the industry's one and only Digital Pyroelectric Infrared Detector Family, the new DigiPyro PYD 1688 was developed for use in both residential and commercial products. It runs on a 3V power supply and features a special sleep mode operation, which helps extend battery life when a device is not in use. This results in greater efficiency in motion sensing, home automation, intrusion alarm and wireless presence detection applications.

Excelitas Technologies Introduces New Thermopile Detector

Excelitas Technologies launched the latest in its line of innovative digital thermopile detectors, the DigiPile(TM) Module TPiM 1T 1256 L5.5. The new module allows for greater customization and easy connectivity for non-contact temperature measurement and for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. The DigiPile Module, the newest extension of Excelitas' digital Family of Thermopile Sensors, delivers its unique customization through fully digital signal processing and calibrated linear temperature output signals. With an I(2) C bus and a sensor located on the printed circuit board, it offers easy plug-in use. Ideal for applications ranging from white ware goods to pyrometers and general-purpose process control uses, the DigiPile Module can communicate with many external microprocessors without the need for additional costly components. Excelitas will feature the new DigiPile Module TPiM 1T 1256 L5.5 along with an extensive portfolio of infrared sensing and detection products at SENSOR + TEST 2013 in Nürnberg.
