Gebrüder Weiss GmbH announced that it will increase its presence on the Czech market. In Jenec, located in the immediate vicinity of Prague, the company is going to build a new branch with an office complex and cross-docking facilities. The terminal will be situated in a convenient location near the international airport with easy access to major traffic routes around the Czech capital. According to the company, investments will amount to approx. EUR 15 million. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in late November. The terminal is built on an area of around 75,000 square meters. In a first phase, until the autumn of 2012, 10,000 m² of handling and logistics space (a cross-docking warehouse with 61 gates) and 3,000 m² of office space are built. Depending on the needs, further logistics areas will be added. At the new location, the company will offer its entire range of transport services, including GW.pro.line. By introducing this product, the company has consolidated its service portfolio in the field of general cargo and groupage freight Europe-wide.

Gebrüder Weiss GmbH has appointed Vojislav Jevtic as head of the groupwide product management, sea freight and project logistics & break bulk management. In his new role, the former Managing Director of GW subsidiary Weiss Ocean + Air Cargo GmbH will advance the global interests of the freight transportation and logistics company, especially in the field of core carrier strategies and procurement on various shipping routes. In addition, he will be responsible for the expansion of the Project Logistics and Break Bulk department. Vojislav Jevtic will report directly to GW Air & Sea Board member Heinz Senger-Weiss.

Gebrüder Weiss GmbH has appointed Chaim Huijsmann as its new head of corporate sales. In this position, Mr. Huijsmann is in charge of corporate sales for the company. He will primarily focus on developing key account management and optimizing sales processes. His office is located at the company's headquarters in Lauterach (Vorarlberg).
