The group had failed to mention about 50 workers supplied to Sealord by Advanced Personnel Services, some of whom had worked there for years. Sealord Mulls Argentina Hoki Operation’s Sale
Aug 2 13
Sealord Group Limited might sell Argentina hoki operation. Sealord is on the verge of either a fire-sale of its disastrous Argentina hoki operation or forcing it into bankruptcy and walking away. Either of the option will leave the company with a $40 million loss. Nippon Suisan Kaisha is said to be trying to exit the company. Sealord Board chairman Matanuku Mahuika said Sealord wanted to be out of Argentina by the end of the company's financial year in September 2013. "The number we are giving them is in the vicinity of $40m," he said. "The situation has deteriorated where there are now no buyers. The whole industry is in a catastrophic state."
