The 65,000 tonne/year project was originally scheduled to begin operating by the end of June 2014, but the startup date had been pushed back. G2X Energy has received state and federal permits to build and operate a natural gas-to-gasoline plant in Louisiana. First announced in January 2013, the project will convert natural gas into 12,500 bls/day of zero-sulphur gasoline and/or commercial-grade methanol at a plant in Lake Charles, according to a release.

G2X Energy, Inc. announced that Brent Gwaltney has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Gwaltney will oversee all aspects of the company's current and future natural gas to methanol and gasoline plants. This oversight will include the Pampa Fuels methanol facility located in Pampa, Texas, which is currently under construction, as well as augmenting the development team in the development of the Big Lake Fuels natural gas to gasoline facility located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Mr. Gwaltney will also be responsible for managing the relationships with technology and engineering providers including the Proman Group, Johnson Matthey and ExxonMobil Research and Engineering.
