Citizens Medical Center Selects MModal for Transcription Services

MModal has announced that Citizens Medical Center has selected MModal for transcription services and front-end speech recognition technology. With this agreement, MModal will be the exclusive provider of transcription services to Citizens Medical, a 334-bed acute care hospital based in Victoria, Texas. In addition, Citizens will use MModal Fluency Direct software to speech-enable its MEDITECH EHR systems. MModal Fluency Direct is designed from the ground up to specifically recognize healthcare terminology, and leverages cloud computing to let physicians access their trained voice profile from mobile devices and across hospital systems. With MModal Fluency Direct, physicians can quickly and easily create and edit clinical data directly within EHR system templates promoting improved adoption. Using conversational documentation, MModal's technology enables physicians to generate truly useable information that drives actions within an EMR, ensuring better productivity and patient outcomes.

FirstHealth Selects MModal's Clinical Documentation Solutions

MModal announced that it will provide FirstHealth of the Carolinas, a provider of healthcare services, with enterprise-wide front- and back-end speech recognition, transcription, coding and clinical analytics for its electronic health record, or EHR, systems. These integrated services - which include MModal Fluency Direct, MModal Fluency for Transcription, MModal Fluency for Coding and MModal Catalyst for Quality - will enable FirstHealth care providers to enhance how they capture and leverage patient narratives for improved productivity, billing and patient health. As part of this full service agreement with FirstHealth, MModal will deliver advanced speech recognition and transcription software; coding tools; and analytics assistance. FirstHealth will use MModal Fluency for Transcription and MModal Fluency Direct technology platforms to capture spoken dictation anytime and anywhere. MModal Fluency solutions provide FirstHealth with hybrid workflows (mixing transcription with front-end dictation) to capture greater insight in patient records and, through MModal Fluency Direct, voice-enable EHR systems to create and edit documentation at the point of care. MModal Fluency for Coding delivers a unified, ICD-10 ready workflow process spanning narrative to billing. By accessing information in narratives and identifying and addressing documentation deficiencies, FirstHealth administrators can reduce the time from patient visit to reimbursement. MModal Catalyst for Quality platform will aggregate records from across the FirstHealth system, unlocking narrative information and driving clinical documentation improvement (CDI) initiatives, quality measures and Meaningful Use readiness.

MModal Unveils Medical Dictation App for iPhone Mobile Digital Devices

MModal has unveiled a medical dictation app for iPhone mobile digital devices, expanding the company's mobility solutions. The MModal Fluency Flex Mobile app lets doctors record clinical notes during patient encounters for integration with electronic health record systems, or EHRs. MModal Fluency Flex Mobile is a cloud-based application that connects doctors with hospital information systems to access patient data and dictate notes on the go. The app captures high-quality audio which is converted to text using the MModal Fluency for Transcription speech engine for fast turnaround time and integration in provider workflows and clinical documentation systems.
