Lufthansa Cargo Reports Traffic Results for the Month and Six Months Ended June 2014

Lufthansa Cargo reported traffic results for the month and six months ended June 2014. For the month, the company reported cargo/mail of 137,000 t, available cargo tonne-kilometers of 1,059 m, revenue cargo tonne-kilometers of 721 m and cargo load-factor of 68.1%. For the six months, the company reported cargo/mail of 807,000 t, available cargo tonne-kilometers of 5,936 m, revenue cargo tonne-kilometers of 4,162 m and cargo load-factor of 70.1%.

Lufthansa Cargo Provides Operating Results for the First Quarter of 2014

Lufthansa Cargo transported 399,000 tonnes of freight and mail in the first quarter of 2014, a drop of 0.3%. The company expanded its capacity by 1.6% year on year, and increased sales by 2.3%. Lufthansa Cargo improved its load factor accordingly to 72.0% (positive 0.4% points). The Group transported a total of 458,000 tonnes of freight and mail (negative 0.8%). Capacity (measured in cargo tonne-kilometres) climbed by 1.1%, while sales rose by 2.6%. The cargo load factor was also up at 71.6%(positive 1.1% points).

Lufthansa Seeks Partners

Lufthansa Cargo is looking for partners. Karl Ulrich Garnadt, Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Cargo said the aim of such partnerships would be to increase the number of routes and destinations Lufthansa Cargo could offer while helping to cut costs by taking advantage of the partner’s logistics handling facilities. He also said, "We are in talks with more than one airline, a second partnership should follow in 2015".
