Lufthansa Cargo AG reported traffic results for the year ended December 31, 2012. For the period, volumes at the company fell on weaker demand in 2012 to 1.724 million tones of transported cargo and mail compared to 1.885 million tones for the same period a year ago. Tonnage year-on-year was down by 8.5%. Cargo load factor was 69.6% compared to 69.5% for the same period a year ago.

Lufthansa Cargo AG Announces Executive Changes

Dr. Martin Schmitt has been appointed to the Executive Board and as Labour Director at Lufthansa Cargo AG, effective from January 1, 2013. The 52 year-old manager and head of the Lufthansa Corporate Personal Policy Division is to take over responsibility for Finance and Human Resources on the Executive Board of the Lufthansa Cargo airfreight subsidiary. He succeeds Peter Gerber, who moved to the Lufthansa German Airlines Board in June 2012. Dr. Schmitt, was previously in charge of human resources for flight crewsat Lufthansa and, subsequently, Station Manager and Board Representative at the Munich hub. He took over as head of the Corporate Personal Policy at Lufthansa AG in 2001.

Lufthansa Cargo AG reported traffic results for the nine months ended September 30, 2012. For the period, the company reported Cargo/Mail of 1,288,000 compared to 1,413,000 for the same period a year ago. Cargo load factor was 69.0% compared with 69.3% a year ago.
