Go Airlines Pvt., Ltd. is planning to sell its shares to a foreign airline. Giorgio De Roni, Chief Executive Officer of Go Airlines told The Wall Street Journal, "We are studying opportunities (for a stake sale)." Giorgio De Roni also said "The company plans to use funds from a stake sale to purchase yet more planes."

GoAir Reportedly In Talks To Sell Its 49% Stake

Go Airlines Pvt., Ltd. is reportedly looking for a buyer for its 49% stake. GoAir, part of the Wadia Group, has appointed JPMorgan Chase & Co. to look for a foreign strategic partner to buy up to 49% in the low-cost passenger carrier, four people close to the development said. The potential buyer include Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft (DB:LHA), Qatar Airways and The Emirates Group. "GoAir is in talks with three to four overseas airlines from Europe and the Middle East to sell up to 49% stake," an investment banker with direct knowledge of the development said. "The company is in talks with German carrier Lufthansa and Dubai-based Emirates and Qatar Airways, among others," said a second investment banker involved in the deal. "As a company policy, the airline does not comment on market speculation," GoAir's spokesperson said to Economic Times.

All Nippon Airways Denies Merger Plans With Go Airlines And SpiceJet

All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd. has denied that it is in talks to buy stakes in SpiceJet Limited and Go Airlines Pvt., Ltd. A spokesman from All Nippon Airways said, "There is no truth" to the report. All Nippon Airways has held talks with Go Airlines and SpiceJet for a stake purchase, Times of India newspaper reported citing unidentified people aware of the matter. The report also said that Anand Rathi is acting as financial advisor for SpiceJet. However, Ryosei Nomura, spokesperson of All Nippon Airways said, "We do not offer comments on such media queries."
