Investors Reportedly Plans Triton IPO

Warburg Pincus LLC and Vestar Capital Partners are exploring an initial public offering of Triton Container International Limited that could value the company at more than $6 billion, including debt, said three people familiar with the matter. Triton has held conversations with investment banks in recent weeks about an IPO in the United States of up to $500 million that could come later this year, the people said. Triton's private equity owners are also open to exploring an outright sale of the company, one of the people added. The sources asked not to be identified because the conversations are private. According to Reuters, Warburg Pincus and Vestar declined to comment, while Triton representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

Vestar Capital Partners Names Norman W. Alpert and Robert L. Rosner as Co-Presidents

Vestar Capital Partners announced that Norman W. Alpert and Robert L. Rosner have been named co-presidents of the firm, effective immediately. Mr. Alpert, 54, is a managing director and one of the founding partners of Vestar Capital. He is a member of Vestar’s Executive and Investment Committees and is actively involved across many of Vestar’s industry sectors. Mr. Alpert will continue as co-head of Vestar’s Healthcare/Digital Media/Information Services Sectors. He is currently a director of HealthGrades, MediMedia USA Inc., St John Knits Inc., and Press Ganey Associates Inc. Mr. Alpert began his career in 1980 as a commercial banker at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company as a member of the Special Finance Division. He joined the Management Buyout Group at The First Boston Corporation in 1984, before leaving in 1988 to launch Vestar Capital Partners. Mr. Alpert serves on the boards of Brown University, The Brown Hillel Foundation, the Brown University Sports Foundation, the National Rowing Foundation, American Friends of Shalva (the association for mentally and physically challenged children in Israel), and White Plains Hospital. Mr. Rosner, 53, is a managing director and one of the founding partners of Vestar Capital. He is a member of Vestar’s Executive and Investment Committees. Before returning to Vestar’s New York office in 2011, Mr. Rosner ran Vestar’s highly successful European operations for more than a decade. Mr. Rosner will continue as co-head of Vestar’s Diversified Industries/Financial Services Sectors. He is currently a director of Triton Container International Limited, Radiation Therapy Services Inc. and OGF Group.

Escada Reportedly In Talks To Acquire St. John Knits

EDOB Abwicklungs AG (Escada) has reportedly held merger talks to acquire St. John Knits International Inc. from Vestar Capital Partners. Rothschild is running the auction of St. John Knits. Officials at Escada and Rothschild couldn't be reached for comment and Vestar officials declined to comment, New York Post reported. Other prospective bidders for St. John Knits are The Jones Group Inc. and Lion Capital LLP. Insiders said St. John Knits could fetch as much as $300 million.
