The Houston Food Bank Announces Executive Changes

The Houston Food Bank announced that it has appointed John Ragan as board chair along with a new slate of officers at the nonprofit organization. Other appointees include: Kim Ruth, board vice chair - Houston market president and central region commercial banking executive for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the corporate and investment banking division of Charlotte, N.C.-based Bank of America Corp. Ben Samuels, past chair - CEO of Houston-based Victory Packaging LP; Janet Bryan-Matura, treasurer - a CPA and shareholder in the Houston office of Michigan-based Doeren Mayhew; Leslie Nelson, secretary - CFO and vice president of finance at the Texas division of California-based Safeway Inc., which operates Randalls and Tom Thumb groceries. Ragan and the other officers were appointed for two-year terms beginning July 3, 2013. The food bank has 24 board members.

Jones, regional president, Greater Houston Region, Wells Fargo; E. Javier Loya, chairman and CEO, OTC Global Holdings; Todd Manley, regional general manager operations, Wal-Mart Stores; David Payne, vice president of drilling & completions, Chevron; John Ragan, executive vice president and regional president, Gulf Coast, NRG Energy; Richard C. Roberts, general manager, Houston Distributing Co.; Kim Ruth, Houston market president, Bank of America; and Darryl L. Wilson, president and CEO of Aeroderivative Products for GE Energy.
