OUYA, Inc. is currently in negotiation with several Chinese companies, including Xiaomi Inc. and Tencent Holdings Ltd. (SEHK:700) and a few American companies, including Google Inc. (NasdaqGS:GOOGL) and Amazon.com Inc., in terms of acquisition, according to persons familiar with the matter.

OUYA Reportedly In Talks With Buyers

OUYA, Inc. is in discussions with dozens of buyers regarding a possible sale, foreign media reported citing people with knowledge on the matter. OUYA is known to have have held discussions with Beijing Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd., Tencent Holdings Ltd. (SEHK:700), Google Inc. (NasdaqGS:GOOGL) and Amazon.com Inc. (NasdaqGS:AMZN). The buyers are interested in OUYA’s talent instead of hardware equipment.

NanoTech Entertainment Signs Software Agreement with Ouya

NanoTech Entertainment has signed a worldwide software agreement with video-game platform developer Ouya to embed Ouya's gaming system in NanoTech's Nuvola NP-1 4K Ultra HD streaming media player. Powered by NVIDIA Tegra 4 and compatible with the OUYA Wireless Controller, the Nuvola NP-1 delivers OUYA's roster of titles into the living room, giving users a gaming experience optimized for large-screen TVs, and further expanding exposure to independent developers via the open platform. With the Tegra's 72 powerful GPU cores and advanced rendering capabilities, games come to life just as the creators intended. In addition to being able to play OUYA-exclusive games, the Nuvola NP-1 can decode 4K Ultra HD content as well as HD, SD and 3D movies. It can also stream content from a variety of sources, including the bundled UltraFlix UHD channel, featuring over 100 hours of UHD content. Both the OUYA platform and the Nuvola NP-1 are based on Google's Android operating system, the most advanced device OS available. Both companies are focused on content designed for television playback. NP-1 users who have an OUYA Game Controller will be able to connect up to four controllers to enjoy multiplayer games.
