Marking a significant change in Nissan's senior management structure, the company announced the appointment of Kenichiro Yomura as president of the Indian operations. Yomura will concurrently hold the post of managing director and CEO for Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd., which was held by Takayuki Ishida, who has moved to China. Yomura will report to Toru Hasegawa, corporate vice-president for Africa, Middle East and India. The president will be based at the company's headquarters in Chennai. The company also appointed Ajay Raghuvanshi as vice-president (business management). Prior to this assignment, Raghuvanshi was national head for dealer development and rural sales operations for Hyundai and the business head for the entire western zone. Raghuvanshi will be responsible for supporting pricing, marketing, sales and operations. In this expanded role, Yomura will be responsible for developing strategies to maximize Nissan's business performance, managing product introduction and significantly increasing the presence and accessibility of the Nissan brand through continuing network expansion.

Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd. announced sales results for the month ended July 2012. For the month, the company reported it has sold 3,481 units against 1,593 units during the same month a year ago. Nissan Sunny, the entry-level sedan, leads the sales with 2,436 units and Micra, the compact hatchback, posted sales of 1,028 units.

Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd. reported sales results for the month ended April 2012. For the month, the company reported sales of 3,467 units for the month of April 2012, representing a 187% year-on-year increase. Growth in sales was driven by the sales of the recently launched SUNNY sedan, which accounted for 2,012 of the April total. The company has sold 16,173 units of the Sunny since its launch in September last year.
