Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman announced that former NBCUniversal attorneys John Berlinski and Mansi Shah have joined the firm as partners in its Los Angeles office to launch its entertainment litigation practice. Berlinski was SVP, Head of West Coast Television Litigation, and Shah served as Senior Litigation Counsel at NBCUniversal. Berlinski will chair the firm's Entertainment Practice Group, which will primarily represent television and film entertainers, talent agencies, and others with "backend" profit participation interests, and specialize in maximizing those interests. As Senior Vice President & Head of West Coast Television Litigation at NBCUniversal Media, Berlinski managed all of the company's West Coast television litigation, as well as pre-litigation disputes involving profit participation, copyright, idea theft, right to privacy, and labor and employment, among others. He also led a team of lawyers dedicated to providing NBCUniversal with advice regarding the negotiation of profit participation contracts, the issuance of accounting statements, audits, and the resolution of audit claims.

Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP announced the appointment of Clarine Nardi Riddle as Counsel. She will focus on expanding the firm's presence on Capitol Hill and advising clients on a range of regulatory and public policy issues. Riddle will also continue working with Senator Joseph Lieberman, for whom she most recently served as Senate Chief of Staff. Earlier she served as Judge of the Connecticut Superior Court, Connecticut's trial court of general jurisdiction, and Special Counsel to Senator Lieberman, as well as his Deputy and Counsel. Riddle remains an active co-founder of No Labels.
The company announced that it will launch its Washington, D.C. office and Government Affairs practice.
