ProtonMedia, Inc. announced new collaborative solutions with both Microsoft Corporation and PolyComp Ltd, the global leader in open standards-based unified communications (UC). This collaboration will integrate ProtonMedia's ProtoSphere platform with Microsoft's business productivity suite (including document management, voice, text and presence technology) and the Polycom RealPresence Platform. These technology platforms help create a fully functional, enterprise-quality virtual environment for business collaboration. ProtoSphere, which is already using many of Microsoft's business productivity technologies (such as Lync audio, text, IM, presence, application sharing, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365), will now be "Polycom Ready." Polycom Ready is a Polycom Partner Network program and identifies products that are verified as interoperable with Polycom solutions and applications. As a result, ProtoSphere will also seamlessly integrate a variety of Polycom video solutions including Polycom RealPresence Room systems such as the Polycom HDX series and other Microsoft Lync-enabled offerings in the near future.

ProtonMedia, Inc. announced the release of ProtoSphere(R) 2.1. Featuring a wide range of new tools and capabilities designed specifically for the enterprise, ProtoSphere(R) 2.1 is a dramatically enhanced version of ProtonMedia's rapidly emerging collaboration & learning platform. ProtoSphere(R) is the first and only immersive, 3D social collaboration environment that directly integrates with both Microsoft's Office and Lync products. The new version of ProtoSphere(R), Version 2.1, adds even tighter integration with Outlook. Now, users can book virtual rooms for meetings and events directly from their Outlook calendars. Some of those new features include updated SharePoint integration to support site-federated authentication, Office 365 authentication and interoperation, a suite of tools that will give developers the ability to create a wide variety of custom interactions such as programming 'bots' that can respond directly to a user's avatar, moderator access controls, keyboard controls, YouTube support and backwards compatibility with the previous versions.
