BP Investment Management announced that it has named Ian Smart as head of fixed income and Opkar Sara as head of investment strategy. In his new role, Smart will be responsible for more than £3.3 billion in fixed income holdings, spread across the fund's £2.6 billion fixed interest and £469 million index-linked bond portfolio. Smart joined in June 2014 from consultancy, which he joined in December 2012 as senior researcher for bond managers. Sara also joined in June 2014, after nearly five years at the as principal fund manager, in charge of asset
allocation and investment strategy.

Anthony Pike, chief executive officer and director at BP Investment Management Limited in the UK, is set to retire at the end of 2012. Pike, who is no longer working full-time for the company, has been responsible for investment management, apportionment and oversight since 2007, when he succeeded Colin Maltby. Pike joined BP Investment Management in 1998 from AMP and will be replaced by John Bearman, the former chief investment officer at Santander Asset Management. Bearman joined BP Investment Management in September.
