In January 1996, Advance Ross Corporation was acquired by CUC International, Inc. (CUC), through a merger with Retreat Acquisition Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of CUC. Previously, Advance Ross Corporation was engaged in the operation of a value-added tax refund system serving travelers shopping in Europe. It was also engaged in the design, manufacture, and installation of electrostatic precipitators for industrial pollution control purposes.
