Alltel Corporation has announced the promotion of Jillian Braun to general manager in North Carolina. This promotion occurs as a result of Alltel's realignment of sales teams in an effort to become more fully engaged in the local communities they serve, including Rockingham. Braun has been with Alltel for nine years, most recently in the role of regional sales manager in North Carolina.

PrivacyStar and Alltel Corporation announced that PrivacyStar for Alltel Wireless Android customers. Users of the privacy application can now easily block unwanted calls and texts as well as easily report telemarketer and debt collector violations directly to the Federal Trade Commission. Other features include SmartBlock, Do Not Disturb, Caller Lookup and more. The PrivacyStar feature-packed application provides Alltel Wireless customers with the ability to enjoy privacy, protection and preference on their mobile phone.

Wmode, Inc. commercially launched Affiliate Commerce Exchange (ACE) with Alltel. ACE will be integrated with Alltel's App Shop, Content Store, and Managed Ringback (RBT) service and will support third party billing access. App Shop, Content Store and RBT are also being provided by Wmode as fully outsourced managed services. The ACE platform provides Alltel with a complete billing and payment backend for their customers and their third party services, subscription management, and user authentication (On network). As well a framework has been put in place to expand future services that will encompass user authentication off network such as WiFi, non-carrier billing including credit cards, e-wallet infrastructure and a loyalty program. The scalable and flexible solutions Wmode is supplying to Alltel are robust and innovative allowing for greater flexibility as Alltel grows their network and subscriber base. Wmode's entire suite of products and services has been a one-stop shop allowing Alltel to focus on the launch of their network and core voice and data services. With the support of these fully managed services from Wmode, Alltel Wireless is now firmly planted in the smartphone space and provides support for an app store infrastructure. After the initial launch, which took place on July 18th, consumer self-management services will be supplied via the consumer portal in the near future.
