Howard University Hospital named Herbert C. Buchanan, Jr. as the Chief Executive Officer. The appointment is effective Oct. 1. At Howard University Hospital, Mr. Buchanan will direct the day-to-day activities of the hospital including community relations, financial management, marketing, information technology and clinical and administrative operations. Buchanan is joining HUH after spending nearly seven years as the Chief Operating Officer at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) in Baltimore, MD. He succeeds Larry Warren. He will step down at the end of September.
