Nokia India to Suspend All the Production at the Chennai Plant

Nokia has announced that it is shutting down its Chennai-based factory on November 1st, 2014. The factory shutdown will leave thousands of workers unemployed. Nokia has faced several tax disputes over the plant from the Indian Government. On October 7, 2014, Nokia India said that it will be suspending the all the production at the Chennai plant. Because of the tax disputes, the factory didn't become part of Microsoft's $7.2 billion deal which closed in April.
P Balaji Resigns as Marketing Director of Nokia India

After heading operations at Nokia India for two years, the company's Marketing Director P Balaji has resigned. Nokia has confirmed the development and added that Balaji will continue to be at the company as an advisor until October. Ajay Mehta, the current Head of Sales Operations, India Middle East and Africa will be acting as the Area head for India. P. Balaji has decided to move on from the organization for personal reasons.
