Nokia India Unveils Lumia 1020 with 41 Megapixel Camera

Nokia India unveiled its much-anticipated 41 megapixel camera phone Lumia 1020, which will hit shelves on October 11. The price of the device will be disclosed on October 10 but as per estimates, it will be available in the range of INR 47,000—INR 48,000. It is currently selling in other markets for $800. The dual—capture feature of the phone allows taking a high resolution 38 megapixel image and also creates a 5 megapixel picture that can be shared on social networking sites. The device has an application called Nokia Pro Camera, which makes it easy for anybody to take professional quality images. The application allows users to click pictures first and then zoom later to get their desired shot. Lumia 1020 runs on Windows 8 and has 32 GB on board storage. The company has also tied up with Vodafone wherein the customers will get free 2GB of 3G data usage for two months. Customers will also get an application voucher worth INR 1,000 with the phone.

Nokia India has announced that it has shut down its Nokia India Music Store and made it exclusively available for its mobile phones. The Nokia India Music store website no longer exists apart from a message on the landing page that says that the site is no longer available and users can still enjoy Nokia Music on their Nokia handsets provided they have a subscription.
Nokia India Pvt. Ltd. to Launch Colour Phone at Entry Level

Nokia India Pvt. Ltd. will be coming out with a basic colour phone priced at about INR 1,200 in April 2013. This would signal the end of black-and-white phones. The company will manufacture the new phones at its Chennai facility for the domestic and global markets.
