Chelsea Property Group Inc. engages in the ownership and operation of manufacturers’ outlet centers in the United States, Mexico, and Asia. As of January 1, 2005, it wholly or partially owned 60 Premium Outlet and other shopping centers, consisting of 17.0 million square feet of gross leasable area, located in 30 states, including Japan and Mexico. The company has elected to be taxed as a REIT for federal income tax purposes and accordingly, it distributes at least 90% of its REIT taxable income to its shareholders. Chelsea Property Group was founded in 1993 and is based in Roseland, New Jersey.
