EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. announced that it is one of three firms that have each been awarded an on-call contract with Montgomery County, Maryland to provide professional engineering and planning services with regard to solid waste management. This contract covers a base period of 3 years with two potential 1-year options; services will be provided to the County's Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Solid Waste Services. Under this contract, EA will provide a variety of professional services to assist the County in meeting its solid waste management program goals. Individual task orders may encompass projects related to landfills and transfer stations, material collection and recycling, waste-to-energy, yard trim recycling, and remote waste management sites such as homeowner drop-off facilities. Services under the contract may include environmental, planning, design, operational, and construction support services, as well as program management, technical documentation, meeting management, and public information initiatives.
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology is expanding in Baltimore County. In 2012, the company will consolidate more than 200 employees from Maryland and Pennsylvania in a new $27 million LEED Platinum headquarters at Schilling Green II in Hunt Valley. A state-of-the-art ecotoxicology and biological testing laboratory facility will be built adjacent to the headquarters. In business for more than 38 years, the company expects to add 40 new jobs over the next four years.
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. won a $25 million federal contract from the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Acquisition Management, Chicago, for professional architect and engineer, technical and management services for contaminated sediment design activities, habitat restoration design and evaluation support and contaminated sediment remedial oversight for the Great Lakes National Program Office.
