FireEye, Inc. Announces the New Release of FireEye Email Threat Prevention Cloud
Jul 1 14
FireEye, Inc. announced the new release of FireEye Email Threat Prevention Cloud that adds the traditional email security features of anti-spam and anti-virus protection to its advanced threat detection capabilities. Now generally available, the latest update to FireEye Email Threat Prevention Cloud creates the only secure email gateway solution that utilizes the FireEye Multi-vector Virtual Execution engine and FireEye Dynamic Threat Intelligence cloud. According to IDC's Worldwide Network Security Forecast 2013-2017 and 2012 Vendor Shares, the needs of organizations using messaging security solutions will be related to implementing advanced threat prevention and signature-less malware detection within the next five years. To effectively address this shift, enterprises are looking to increase operational efficiencies by consolidating advanced email threat prevention with traditional email defenses. The new FireEye Email Threat Prevention Cloud optimizes enterprise security spending, reduces false positives, and enables operational efficiencies through consolidation. Key benefits of the new offering include: Comprehensive email security - Combat advanced spear-phishing email attacks and traditional email threats with an active protection-mode or a monitor-only mode. Cost effective and easy to use cloud deployment model - Quick deployment with no hardware or software to install. The newly introduced anti-spam and anti-virus protection capabilities of the FireEye Email Threat Prevention Cloud can also be integrated with the on-premise FireEye Email Threat Prevention Platform. This solution allows for organizations needing on-premise, advanced email protection to enable comprehensive email threat prevention. With a pricing model that does not distinguish between on-premise or cloud consumption, customers and partners can easily unify their traditional and advanced email security needs.

FireEye Announces General Availability of Network Threat Prevention Platform with IPS
May 29 14
FireEye, Inc. announced that it will offer the FireEye Network Threat Prevention Platform with IPS to customers worldwide starting June 2, 2014. Available as an add-on license to the FireEye Network Threat Prevention Platform (NX series), the new offering is designed to give customers a holistic view of multi-vector attacks that go well beyond conventional intrusion prevention system (IPS) tools. The Network Threat Prevention Platform with IPS uses purpose-built virtual-machine technology to better protect systems against known and unknown threats and rein in false positives compared to traditional IPS solutions. The FireEye Network Threat Prevention Platform with IPS is powered by the FireEye Multi-vector Virtual Execution(TM) (MVX) engine, combining the proven architecture of MVX to detect today's advanced threats with IPS technology to meet compliance obligations. When network traffic triggers a signature-based alert, the MVX evaluates the traffic to confirm whether the threat is real, greatly improving the signal-to-noise ratio. In addition to passing an alert directly to the alert management system, as traditional IPS does, the MVX engine inspects the corresponding network traffic within instrumented virtual-machine environments. The MVX engine evaluates activity across multiple flows used in advanced attacks. That analysis is integrated with host-based detection and other components of the broader FireEye platform. The FireEye Network Threat Prevention Platform with IPS consolidates advanced threat prevention with traditional security to optimize spend, reduce false positives, and enable compliance -- while guarding systems from known and unknown threats. Key features of the new offering include: validates IPS-detected attacks using MVX technology, consolidates view of known and unknown attacks, and correlates known and unknown threats. Pricing for the new IPS offering starts at 15% of the NX sensor.
