Cornerstone Brands, Inc. announced unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, net sales were $298.7 million compared to $286.4 million for the same period a year ago, increased 4%. Sales grew in the home brands, partially offset by lower sales in the apparel brands. Digital sales grew 6% with penetration increasing 130 basis points to 64.2%.  Adjusted EBITDA was $19.4 million compared to $28.0 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $15.3 million compared to $24.3 million in the prior year. Return rate was 12.2% compared to 12.6% a year ago. For the six months, the company reported net sales of $531.6 million compared to $508.9 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $20.1 million compared to $35.9 million a year ago. Operating income was $8.6 million compared to $28.2 million for the same period a year ago. Return rate was 12.9% compared to 13.1% a year ago.
