William Lisle has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of both AIA Bhd and ING Insurance Berhad, effective December 26, 2012, to lead the integration of AIA and ING in Malaysia.
American International Assurance Bhd. announced unaudited earnings results for the six months ended May 31, 2012. Operating profit after tax grew by 5% to $68 million compared with $65 million for the first half of 2011. For the period, VONB was $31 million, ANP was $76 million and TWPI was $486 million against VONB of $22 million, ANP of $67 million and TWPI of $454 million for the same period a year ago.
Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad with American International Assurance Bhd. (AIA) jointly aim to increase insurance coverage among Malaysians. Alliance Bank and AIA signed an eight-year bancassurance agreement to provide conventional life insurance to Alliance Bank customers. The first insurance product that was launched in conjunction with the formalisation of the agreement is the Premier Income 5 (PI5) which is a 20-year regular premium plan underwritten by AIA, that maximises savings potential and provides protection to its customers.
