In August 1996, Gander Mountain, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiaries, GRS, Inc. and GMO, Inc., filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code under which Gander Mountain sold off its assets to Holiday Cos. In accordance with the terms of the plan, the company agreed to sell most of its assets to Holiday Stationstores, Inc. Gander Mountain, Inc. operated as a specialty retailer serving the outdoor recreation market, as of January 22, 1997. It offered functional outerwear, footwear, and equipment for the hunting, fishing, and camping enthusiast.
