VIZIO, Inc. Key Developments

Lochner Technologies and Pragmatus Telecom Dismissals VIZIO Victories Against NPEs

VIZIO, Inc. announced its latest victories in its current string of successes in NPE cases. Without any payment or settlement, Lochner Technologies dismissed its patent case against VIZIO with prejudice. The Federal Circuit's recent guidance regarding the proper claim construction for Lochner's expired patent would have inevitably led the district court to exclude all of VIZIO's accused products, precisely as VIZIO had asserted from the very beginning of this case. In the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, Pragmatus Telecom recently dismissed its patent case against VIZIO with prejudice after the court issued a favorable claim construction ruling that excluded VIZIO's accused systems.

VIZIO Announces the Launch of Latest Home Audio Solution, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand

VIZIO announced the launch of its latest home audio solution, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand. Designed for living areas with limited table or counter space but in need of big, high performance audio, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand is an ideal solution, delivering virtual surround sound experience with bass. This latest addition to VIZIO's audio collection is now available with an MSRP of $249.99. Spaces like dens, dorm rooms or traditional media cabinets, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand provides a convenient audio upgrade for TVs up to 55" class. With a simple, yet sturdy design that measures only 3" in height, the sound stand was developed to support the weight of TVs up to 60 lbs. With all cables included in the box, users will appreciate an easy, streamlined set-up quickly transforming areas where a traditional sound bar wouldn't fit, offering a complete home theater for a full audio experience. While the 2.1 Sound Stand is a complement to HDTVs, it also conveniently functions as a stand-alone audio system for Bluetooth streaming. Consumers can place the sound stand in a bedroom, kitchen or living room without a TV and easily stream their favorite music via Bluetooth from their smartphone or tablet. This feature serves as a great way to fill compact rooms with full, rich audio with deep bass performance, making the 2.1 Sound Stand perfect for parties and other get-togethers. VIZIO sound delivers audio performance for its size -- without distortion -- to produce measurable output at a low frequency of 32 Hz(3) . Equipped with a 5.25" subwoofer, VIZIO's 2.1 Sound Stand pumps out smooth, thunderous bass with low frequency responses that reach as low as 55 Hz. In addition, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand produces bass levels of +5 dB (at 63 Hz) and +15 dB (at 40 Hz) above products(3), providing consumers with superior audio performance when stacked up against the competition. Combine that with up to 101 dB volume with less than 1% total harmonic distortion(2), and consumers now have access to rich, cinematic sound regardless of room size. The VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand is engineered with the latest in sound enhancement technologies, featuring Dolby(R) Digital, DTS TruSurround(TM), DTS TruVolume(TM) and DTS Studio Sound(TM).
