Doubletree Corporation Key Developments
Doubletree Corporation announced the opening of its second Mexican hotel in the historic city of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The 125-suite DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Saltillo is centrally situated just five minutes from Plan de Guadalupe International Airport and ten minutes from the city center of Saltillo -- within easy reach of Saltillo's business and leisure destinations. Formerly an American Suites hotel, the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Saltillo is celebrating its new affiliation with an array of new product, service and design enhancements throughout the property to welcome the world's travelers to a city affectionately referred to as the 'Athens of Mexico'. Offering heritage and cultural attractions dating as far back as 1577, Saltillo is a vibrant industrialized city of nearly one million residents that offers a wonderful world of history, culture and tradition. International visitors enjoy the opportunity to explore local markets to seek famous Saltillo tiles and colorful serapes. Neighboring the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Saltillo, guests may enjoy the world-renowned Alameda Zaragoza Park, the historic pink marble buildings in the Colonial Centre, Saltillo Cathedral, Palacio de Gobierno, the world-class Bird Museum or the Desert Museum with its dinosaur fossils and fascinating Chihuahua Desert displays. The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Saltillo features more than 8,000 square feet of flexible conference space that can accommodate between 10 and 700 guests for business meetings, training seminars, banquets and elegant social events. The hotel also offers complimentary airport shuttle service as well as a self-service business center. The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Saltillo is operated by American Hotel Group under a franchise license agreement with a subsidiary of Hilton Worldwide.
Hilton Worldwide, Inc. is seeking acquisitions. “We definitely want to acquire further hotels in Slovakia. It could be one destination in a city and one or two in a leisure zone. Those would be used by tourists not only from Slovakia, but mostly for foreigners, as we expect their influx,” Rob Palleschi, Director of Doubletree Corporation, said.
