Hanover Direct Inc. operated a call center in York City and hundreds of jobs in Hanover before several rounds of layoffs decimated the local workforce during the last 10 years. This month Rapid Response - a state team that assists employees and business owners affected by job loss, closures and natural disasters - will host informational meetings at the Hanover office as the company prepares to close its local doors and lay off its last 35 employees. The meetings are for company members and have been scheduled for March 12 at the Hanover office, 304 Poplar St.
