Glori Energy, Inc. announced the appointment of Tor Meling as Vice President, Reservoir Engineering. Mr. Meling will apply his extensive industry experience in support of Glori's service business and strategy to acquire end-of-life and abandoned oil fields for increased oil production. Mr. Meling has over 25 years of experience in reservoir engineering and production analysis and forecasting. Prior to joining Glori, Mr. Meling served as Vice President of Global Powerwave Implementation at Wavefront Reservoir Technologies Ltd. where he was responsible for the screening, planning implementation, and analysis of Wavefront projects globally. He also served as Senior Reservoir Engineer for BP Canada, Senior Reservoir Engineer at Wytch Farm Asset, Vice President of Technology and Business Development at Prism Production Technologies Inc., and Lead Engineer at Eileen West End.
Glori Energy, Inc. announced the signing of a strategic research collaboration with the Winogradsky Institute of Microbiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The collaboration will focus on the microbiology of carbonate oil reservoirs. Shared knowledge and research will be used to develop effective enhanced oil recovery methods to be used in carbonate reservoirs and complement Glori's AERO System. The collaboration builds on Glori's strategy of identifying leaders in the field of enhanced oil recovery research around the world and engaging in collaborative ventures to advance Glori's product offerings. Glori has already successfully employed this strategy with Norway's Statoil and India's TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute in New Delhi). The Winogradsky Institute collaboration represents another important step in advancing Glori's mission of sustainably and efficiently recovering billions of barrels of unrecovered oil.
