The fund invests in the public equity markets of the United States. It seeks to invest in stocks of companies operating in the materials sector including exploration, development, mining, processing, or dealing in gold or other precious metals and minerals. The fund benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the S&P 500 Index and FTSE Gold Mines Index. It was formerly known as Evergreen International Trust - Evergreen Precious Metals Fund.
