WGL Holdings, Inc. through its subsidiary, Washington Gas Energy Systems (WGESystems), announced a 2.6 megawatt (MW) Bloom Energy project in Santa Clara County, Ca. (SCC). WGESystems will finance, build, own and operate the 2.6 MW Bloom Energy project and sell all energy generated to SCC under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA). The Bloom Energy Servers will generate clean and reliable power using natural gas and biogas, reducing the County's carbon emissions by nearly 5 million pounds each year. Bloom Energy's solid oxide fuel cell technology generates electricity through a highly efficient electrochemical process and provides clean, on-site energy. WGESystems designs-builds, owns and operates energy solutions that deliver financial, operational and carbon reduction results for non-residential customers across the United States. For projects such as this one, WGESystems has established a financing program that enables customers, including non-profit organizations, to deploy Bloom Energy's distributed, clean power solution.

Macy's Inc. and Bloom Energy announced that an innovative and clean electricity generation system has been installed at Macy's online fulfillment center in Cheshire, CT. The Bloom Energy Servers use an advanced solid oxide fuel cell technology to produce electricity on-site. In addition to providing base load 24x7 power to the facility, the Bloom Energy Servers are equipped with an uninterruptible power module which provides business continuity during grid outages.
SOFTBANK CORP. and Bloom Energy Corp. Establish Joint Venture in Tokyo

Softbank Corp. and Bloom Energy Corp. have established a fifty-fifty joint venture in Tokyo to sell electricity generated with solid oxide fuel cells that essentially differ from conventional hydrogen-based fuel cells. Capitalized at $10 million (¥1 billion), the venture will take advantage of Bloom Energy's "energy servers" that can run on bio gas and town gas as a safe, clean and onsite electricity alternative.
