The Portuguese government intends to privatize Empresa Geral do Fomento SA in the first quarter of 2014, according to Environment Minister, Jorge
Moreira da Silva. Silva added that the sale process will start in the following weeks. The council of ministers has enaged Banco de Investimento Global, S.A. and Citigroup, Inc. (NYSE:C) to advise it on the deal.

(NYSE:C) are acting as advisors to Portuguese government in its privatization process for Empresa Geral, said PARPÚBLICA - Participações Públicas, SGPS, S.A., the parent company of Empresa Geral on June 5, 2013. Also, Morais Leitao is acting as legal advisor to the Portuguese government. The state intends to carry out the privatization of EGF this year.
