NComputing Announces Latest Management Software and Firmware Release
Oct 8 13
NComputing announced the latest management software and firmware release for its N-series line of thin clients. The N-series is Citrix(R) Ready HDX(TM) Verified and leverages NComputing's unique System on Chip (SoC) technology. Designed with expanded secure mobility features and available immediately, the N-series software update maximizes resources and productivity for IT and end-users with a number of new performance enhancements. Market pressures, budget constraints and a more mobile workforce are increasingly driving organizations to desktop virtualization as a viable alternative to traditional PC computing. Through a unique combination of simplicity, performance and value, NComputing removes barriers and accelerates the adoption of desktop virtualization for high priority IT initiatives, including mobility, BYOD and migration to thin clients in lieu of expensive and challenging-to-manage PCs and laptops. The N-series has gained tremendous momentum since its initial release just over a year ago and continues to redefine the price and performance that can be expected from a thin client. N-series thin clients, which include the N500, N500w, and N400, continues to lead the desktop virtualization market and is quickly becoming the de-facto thin client solution for replacing PCs in Citrix deployments. Now, the N-series fulfills the need for modern, mobile computing environments.

Ncomputing, Inc. Announces Latest Release of its N-Series Thin Clients, Extending the Benefits of Desktop Virtualization for Citrix Customers across Key Verticals
May 22 13
NComputing, Inc. announced the latest release of its N-series thin clients, extending the benefits of desktop virtualization for Citrix customers across key verticals. The new firmware release delivers support for an expanded set of peripherals and features Imprivata certified integration of their OneSign SSO technology. The combination enables valuable and impactful industry-specific desktop virtualization use-cases in manufacturing, healthcare, banking/finance, education and other key verticals, opening up new markets for the company and its channel of N-series partners and resellers. The new release capitalizes on NComputing's relationship with Citrix to make desktop virtualization more affordable, powerful and transformative for businesses than ever before. NComputing's HDX Ready SoC technology is continually developed exclusively for Citrix environments and leverages the latest advancements in the Citrix Receiver(TM) for Linux version delivered in this firmware release as well. The latest release extends the core value of the N-series and supports a number of important USB options, including local or remote USB redirection by device type, serial and parallel peripheral support, multiple USB or IP scanners and printers and more, to enable specific industry use cases. For example, the N-series can now be used for healthcare applications requiring support for specialized scanners and imagers, teller workstations in banking and finance applications requiring check reader and barcode scanning equipment, or in manufacturing environments where peripheral and system connectivity via parallel or serial interface is needed. Additional enhancements leveraging the newest Citrix Receiver for Linux, which is integrated seamlessly in the new N-series firmware 1.4 release, ensures a rich, optimized and well-managed HDX user experience that lets organizations take better advantage of multimedia audio and video environments. The new N-series product line also features world-class security authentication through a partnership with Imprivata, and features the integration of their OneSign technology for single sign-on, authentication, secure and fast user switching for shared workstations and no click access to virtual desktops. NComputing also introduced the newest version of vSpace Management Center for N-series devices in Citrix environments, offering centralized and highly scalable, anywhere, anytime management using an intuitive Web-based console. NComputing's vSpace Management Center natively supports the features of the newest N-Series firmware release and related functionality of the included Citrix Receiver for Linux v12.5. Maximizing efficiency for large-scale enterprise deployments, critical management functions like firmware upgrades can be automated, scheduled and completed remotely. The new product releases are now available.
