Government To Sell Stake In Electricity Networks

Government is planning to sell $30 billion assets in Electricity Networks Corporation. Mark Morey, Assistant Secretary of Unions NSW said, "The daily revelations at ICAC have seriously undermined faith in our political process, yet the state Liberals think they can sneak a sale of our electricity system through by doing it in bits and chunks and through leases. This is deeply cynical and the public will see it for what it is, an attempt to disguise the biggest privatisation in the state's history. There's nothing positive about selling off our poles and wires that deliver electricity to our homes and businesses. I've said that the Cabinet and the party room needs to consider it. So there's no change in policy as we stand. The papers aren't even finished yet."
