Shaw Industries Recalls Carpet Due to Fire Hazard

Shaw Industries recalled Aristocrat II Carpet since the carpet failed to meet federal flammability standards, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Remedy would be to replace, refund. The recall involves Aristocrat II brand wall-to-wall carpet with style number 7L514. The carpet was sold in one color, Pale Clay. A date stamp on the back of the carpet reads 'USA 760 MEA 52545'. The stamp is repeated every six feet. Consumers should immediately contact Shaw Industries to determine if their carpet is included in the recall and for instructions on returning the product for refund or replacement. It was sold exclusively at Lowe's stores nationwide between June 2013 and September 2013 for about $1 a square foot.
