The Government announced that the Chief Executive had, on the recommendation of a selection panel, appointed Mr. Pius Cheng Kai-wah as Executive Director (Commercial and Operations) of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) for a term of three years. The appointment will take effect on January 1, 2014. Mr. Cheng is currently Director, Corporate and Legal Services of the URA.
The South Australian Government Extends Joint Venture Between CIC Australia Ltd and Urban Renewal Authority

The South Australian Government has approved the extension of the joint venture (JV) between CIC Australia Ltd. and Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to incorporate an adjoining parcel of land, previously the Ross Smith Secondary School site. Development of this site will provide for a community facility, up to 162 residential blocks (including affordable housing), and four commercial blocks in its highly successful "Lightsview" development. The extension of the JV covers a further 11.27 hectares of adjacent land at the infill suburb of Northgate, just 8km from the Adelaide CBD. The existing JV was originally established following CIC's successful expression of interest bid in 2006.

Urban Renewal Authority announced that non-executive directors have been appointed. The new appointees are Chiang Lai-wan, Edward Chow, Fung Wai-kwong, Laurence Ho, Lester Garson Huang, Prof Eddie Hui, Nelson Lam, Laurence Li, Timonthy Ma, David Tang and Stanley Wong. The eight directors retired were Victor Chan, Walter Chan, Prof Ho Pui-yin, Ip Kwok-him, Isaac Ng, Ng Shui-lai, Peter To and Douglas Young.
