Loyola University of Chicago announced that Jay Calamia has been named vice president for finance and administration and Jo Ann Moran Cruz has been named dean of the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences.
Donald Heider was named dean of Loyola University of Chicago's new School of Communication, located at its Water Tower campus. Previously, Heider was associate dean at the Phillip Merrill College of Journalism, University of Maryland.
Loyola University of Chicago announced that its Board of Trustees has approved the formation of a new School of Communication (SOC). The school will begin independent operations in the summer of 2008, and will be headquartered on the first three floors of The Clare at the University's Water Tower Campus beginning in January 2009. Initially, the school will offer undergraduate majors in Advertising/Public Relations, Communication, and Journalism. In addition, faculty members within the school will continue their partnership with Loyola's College of Arts and Sciences to support its interdisciplinary major in International Film & Media Studies.
