Tony Fernandes Reportedly Plans To Raise $550 million By Listing

Tony Fernandes plans to raise up to $550 million by listing shares of AirAsia X Sdn. Bhd., Tune Insurance Malaysia Bhd and PT Indonesia Airasia, a source said. Aziz Bakar, Chairman of Airasia, told AFP that work was in progress for the triple initial public offering but refused to offer any details. Aziz Bakar said, "We are working on it. God willing, we would be able to launch the three listings by early next year. So we need to opt for listing. It is a cheaper way to raise funds."

AirAsia X Reportedly Hires Advisor For IPO

AirAsia X Sdn. Bhd. has reportedly hired CIMB, Malayan Banking Bhd and Credit Suisse Group AG for a $250 million initial public offering. The offering is expected to be launched in early 2013.

AirAsia Updates On IPO Plans

AirAsia X Sdn. Bhd. is going to launch its initial public offering (IPO) which progressing and appeared imminent but no exact date has been determined yet, AirAsia Berhad’s Chief Executive Officer, Tony Fernandes said. "I reckon it will be in December," Fernandes said. The reports earlier stated that the IPO could be worth around $250 million.
