Company Overview

In December 1997, Virginia First Financial Corporation was merged with and into BB&T Financial Corporation of Virginia, a wholly owned subsidiary of BB&T Corporation. Virginia First Financial Corporation, prior to the merger, operated as the holding company for Virginia First Savings Bank, F.S.B. The Bank attracted checking and savings deposits from the general public through its retail banking offices; and originated, serviced, invested in, and sold loans secured by first mortgage liens on single-family dwellings, including condominium units.
