Winn-Dixie Announces Immediate Recall of Taylor Farms Spinach Antipasti Salad in All Winn-Dixie Stores
Oct 28 13
Winn-Dixie announced an immediate recall of the Taylor Farms Spinach Antipasti Salad in all Winn-Dixie stores. This recall is an expansion of an earlier recall announced by Reser's Fine Foods Inc. This item is sold in the full-service case in the deli department. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the reason for the recall is the potential that the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Winn-Dixie is immediately recalling the Spinach Antipasti Salad from deli cases in all stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. The recalled Taylor Farms Spinach Antipasti Salad was sold at stores between Oct. 19 and Oct. 27. Winn-Dixie has received no reports of any issues associated with Spinach Antipasti Salad consumption. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions, sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. The very young, seniors and persons with weak immune systems are the most susceptible to foodborne illnesses.
