Piksel Expands OSN Play Service to Include Smartphones

Piksel announced that it has developed and delivered a multi-platform extension of OSN Play, allowing subscribers of the Middle East's larger pay TV broadcaster, OSN to watch their content on smart phones with 3G and 4G capabilities. This continues the expansion of over-the-top television (OTT) services for OSN, with terrific subscriber response to the launch, resulting in significant early adoption rates. OSN Play delivers live streaming and VOD to subscribers in 24 countries, is now available on just about all devices including PC, Mac, iPad and Android tablets, Samsung Smart TV's and now iPhone and Android smartphones. The platform expansion allows OSN's subscribers to watch television anywhere, anytime, unrestricted by their device or the lack of WiFi. Launched recently to subscribers, early adoption is positive giving users another option to access OSN content.
Piksel and Olympusat Telecom Enter Reseller Partnership

Piksel announced a new partnership with Olympusat Telecom, who has become an official reseller of Piksel's online video platform (OVP) at IBC in Amsterdam. This partnership allows Olympusat to white-label the solution and forge new opportunities in the Americas, as internet and satellite video delivery converge. Piksel OVP is a cloud-based service that makes it easy to transmit recorded and live video via web sites, mobile apps, social media networks, and large event screens. Its features include live and simulated-live broadcasting, 24/7 IP based television channels, white labeling, multi-site/time shifting broadcasting, and custom player and mobile app development tools. Currently Piksel's OVP is used by over 750 companies worldwide, has supported more than 3 billion video views to date and broadcast over 40,000 live events every year.

Piksel announced that the appointment of Daniel Thunberg as Senior Vice President Commercial, EMEA /APAC and Mitch Askenas as Senior Vice President Commercial, Americas. Mr. Thunberg joined Piksel 18 months ago, after over a decade with Irdeto, and has been promoted from the role of SVP Sales - APAC. Experienced in creating and executing successful strategies in sales, account management, partnerships, and business development, Mr. Thunberg is an expert in the broadcast, OTT and multi-screen space. Mr. Askenas brings more than two decades of executive experience in sales, business development, and engineering, focused in the digital TV ecosystem. Prior to joining Piksel, Mr. Askenas was Director of Business Development at Miranda Technologies, responsible for delivering digital TV management and monitoring solutions to top cable and IPTV operators worldwide.
