In September 1996, New World Communications Group Incorporated entered into an agreement and plan of merger with Fox Television Stations, Inc., pursuant to which Fox Acquisition Co., Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Fox Television, would merge with and into New World, with New World surviving as a wholly owned subsidiary of Fox Television. New World Communications Group Incorporated operated broadcast television stations, television production operations, filmed entertainment libraries, and filmed entertainment distribution businesses, as of September 30, 1996.
