Alshaya Rumored To Be Interested In Mothercare

Rumours doing the rounds on February 3, 2014 suggested that a £4 a share break-up bid from M.H. Alshaya Co. W.L.L. could soon be on the cards for Mothercare plc (LSE:MTC). Alshaya could bid for Mothercare and then either sell or spin off the Early Learning Centre business.

DineEquity, Inc. Opens First IHOP Restaurant in Saudi Arabia

DineEquity Inc. announced that they have opened the first IHOP restaurant in Saudi Arabia. The restaurant, located in Le Mall', is part of a seven-brand restaurant destination in Jeddah, which opened on December 14. The company reported that the opening represents the fifth restaurant for the IHOP brand in the region since 2012 under its multi-franchise agreement with M.H. Alshaya Co., which has opened IHOP locations in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The agreement between Alshaya and IHOP Franchise Company, allows for the development of 40 restaurants across the Middle East and North Africa region, with plans to expand to markets including Lebanon, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Egypt. Additionally, the new restaurant features IHOP restaurant's menu of pancakes, waffles, omelettes and breakfast favorites, as well as a full complement of delicious lunch and dinner items and will be open Saturday through Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. until 1 a.m. and on Thursday and Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 2 a.m.
