Lembaga Kemajuan Perusahaan Pertanian (LKPP) Corporation Sdn Bhd has invested MYR 140 million to breed the 'White Vannamei' prawns at its Pulau Permatang Pauh aquaculture centre. The breeding project, sprawled over 161 hectares of land, was jointly developed by Pegagau Aquaculture Sdn Bhd and scheduled for completion in 2015. The prawn breeding project generated jobs for 300 local residents besides providing technical and commercial training for selected entrepreneurs.
