The government of Belarus is planning to privatize Hrodna Azot and has invited Indian business circles to participate in the plans. Mikhail Myasnikovich, Prime Minister of Belarus said, "It is possible there to manufacture products for your market, using nitrogen, potash and phosphate fertilizers. We propose establishing joint enterprises in India in spheres where the Belarusians have recognized production experience, technologies and know-how. We would provide beneficial investment support for this. Today I and the Indian minister of commerce and industry reached an agreement on the establishment of a joint enterprise to manufacture mining machinery. Belarus also offers India cooperation in the manufacture of MAZ (Minsk Automobile Plant) trucks and buses, and is ready to establish joint enterprises to build these vehicles and provide maintenance for them. A good economic effect could also come from the establishment of a joint enterprise with MTW [Minsk Tractor Works] to manufacture machinery ranging from mini tractors to energy-efficient tractors that can carry any type of mounted equipment."

JSC SIBUR Holding have denied being in discussions to acquire a stake in the participation process of Hrodna Azot. "We do not want to participate," SIBUR’s President, Dmitry Konov said.

The Belarusian government is negotiating a stake acquisition by JSC SIBUR Holding Rosneft Oil Company of Hrodna Azot, Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich told reporters in Moscow.
