TELUS Communications to Build Three New Wireless Sites Between Terrace and Burns Lake

TELUS Communications Company announced that it is investing $2.3 million to build three new wireless sites bringing service to about 40 kilometers of Highway 16 between Terrace and Burns Lake. The first two sites in the series are now live, the first providing new wireless coverage between Terrace and Kitwanga, the second between Topley and Burns Lake. The third site, which will bring new coverage between Smithers and Houston, is under construction and should be complete by the end of the year.
TELUS Communications Company to Build Wireless Site in Highway 3 Between Hedley and Keremeos

TELUS Communications Company has invested CAD 715,000 to build a wireless site serving Highway 3 between Hedley and Keremeos. The new site provides coverage to about 13 kilometers of Highway 3, building upon TELUS's $675,000 investment announced in May bringing wireless service to 14 kilometers of Highway 3A from Keremeos to Kaleden. The project is part of the ten year Connecting British Columbia Agreement signed with the Province of B.C. in 2011. Under the terms of the agreement TELUS will invest to connect more than 1,700 kilometers of unconnected highways with wireless service.

This expansion of TELUS' 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) service to these communities means residents can take advantage of dramatically faster wireless Internet speeds when surfing the web, reading emails, listening to music, watching videos, or using social media sites on an LTE-enabled smartphone or wireless device.
