AireBeam Builds Arizona Backbone Network With Exalt Wireless Systems
Jul 16 14
Exalt Communications Inc. announced that FibAire Communications, LLC dba AireBeam has deployed a 150-mile gigabit Ethernet backbone using Exalt ExploreAir systems. The AireBeam network serves more than 5,000 business and residential customers in Pinal, Maricopa, Cochise, and Yavapai counties in Arizona. AireBeam selected microwave as its primary network technology because fiber connectivity was unavailable in most of the areas it serves, and trenching new fiber would have been cost-prohibitive. The company operates 120 microwave access points located throughout the counties, covering approximately 5,000 square miles of inhabited area. By using Exalt all-outdoor microwave backhaul systems in the 11 GHz and 18 GHz frequencies, the company gains fiber-like network throughput with the reliability. The AireBeam network carries Internet access and VoIP traffic for its customers, and the gigabit Ethernet backhaul throughput delivered by Exalt ensures that there will be plenty of bandwidth for future service scalability.
Wyoming.com Deploys Exalt Wireless Systems to Deliver Fiber-Speed Connectivity to Rural Areas
Jun 25 14
Exalt Communications Inc. announced that Wyoming.com, a wireless Internet service provider (WISP) serving the state of Wyoming, has deployed Exalt Air Series systems to serve as the backbone of its network and provide fiber-speed voice, data, video, and Internet services to more than 3,000 customers across Wyoming. Fiber infrastructure is scarce in rural Wyoming, so microwave is the only practical way to build out the network. Wyoming.com sister company Cerento -- a microwave and power systems design, engineering, and construction firm -- deployed the systems. Cerento and Wyoming.com selected Exalt systems from among all others on the market because of many factors, including performance, reliability, scalability, ease of use, and extended warranty.
