YouMail, Inc. Launches "YouMail en Espanol" for Android
Aug 13 12
YouMail, Inc. announced that it updated its Visual Voicemail Plus app for Android with the ability to offer a complete Spanish-language experience for its users. The primary features of "YouMail en Espanol" include: All interaction on Android is automatically done in Spanish if the Android OS is set to use Spanish; The user can explicitly and easily choose whether YouMail's "Smart Greeting" will greet callers in English or Spanish, and they can also "mix and match" English and Spanish greetings, choosing which callers should be greeted in which language, and overriding their primary greeting with personal greetings for specific exceptions; and Transcriptions of Spanish-speaking voice messages are now supported, with no effort on the part of users. Smartphone adoption among the Spanish-language U.S. population (approximately 37 million overall) generally outpaces that of their English-language counterparts and continues to grow, especially with increased usage in the voice communication sector serviced by YouMail.
YouMail, Inc. Announces One-Time, Permanent Ditching of Unwanted Callers
Mar 15 12
YouMail, Inc. announced that it now has a "One-Tap" solution for Android users that allows any caller to be instantly, completely, and permanently ditched, offering the easiest and most effective app-based solution for blocking unwanted calls. The feature works with either the Android's YouMail Visual Voicemail Plus or WhoAreYou app. When a caller is "ditched," their calls are no longer visible or ring the phone, they cannot leave a message, and most importantly, they hear a greeting that the current number is out of service, including the special tones that cause most telemarketing, collection agency, and robocallers to treat the number as disconnected and take it off of their call lists. The Federal Communications Commission has recently approved tougher regulations against robocalls, YouMail remains the first and strongest line of defense against debt collectors, live telemarketers and other unpopular calls. Users of the company's WhoAreYou "Visual Caller ID" application see a popup each time a new caller calls, showing a representative image, such as a Facebook photo or business logo, name, and caller id, along with a large "Ditch" button. Hitting that button ensures that all future calls from that number will silently be sent to voicemail without the phone ever ringing. If the user then has YouMail's Visual Voicemail Plus service as their voicemail, it recognizes the ditched number, plays them the out-of-service greeting, and immediately hangs up.
Youmail, Inc. Launches Visual Caller Id Application for Android
Dec 20 11
YouMail, Inc. announced the launch of WhoAreYou, the company's second smart phone application. The completely free WhoAreYou application brings real-time Visual Caller ID to Android phones, solving the common problem shared by mobile phone users of knowing exactly who is calling. Visual Caller ID identifies missed callers with a name, city/state information, and a representative image -- such as a Facebook photo or business logo -- even when the calling party is not found in the user's address book. This allows WhoAreYou users to decide whether to answer a call, let it roll to voicemail or immediately block it from ever ringing their phone again. YouMail's WhoAreYou Application has additional popular functions, including: users can run the app as a stand-alone "search replacement" to get more information on any phone number; users can "ditch" callers with a single click that automatically sends calls from that number to voicemail without ever ringing the phone; the "ditch" feature works especially well when the user's voicemail is handled by YouMail's Visual Voicemail Plus application, where all ditched callers will be played a "This number is out of service message, making it extremely convenient to get taken off of call lists. The launch of WhoAreYou follows on the heels of the company's recently completed investment round, including funding from Vantage Point and the Crunch Fund. Additionally, YouMail recently announced that its Visual Voicemail Plus application has surpassed the 3 million organic downloads milestone, and can boast having had 75 million distinct callers interact with the company's service at one point or another.
